After Rest is an intimate musical experience by composer Lauren Sonder that invites the audience to slow down, rest, and dream. The event features an immersive set of original piano music played by candlelight, framed by guided reflection before and after the performance. Guests are encouraged to experience the music in whatever way feels most supportive, either lying down or seated. Born from Lauren’s experience as a neurodivergent person requiring a lot of rest, the event affirms embodied ways of knowing. At the heart of the evening are two questions: what is a restful space, and what becomes possible when we allow ourselves to rest?

A limited number of floor mats will be provided, along with chairs. Guests are welcome to bring their own mats, blankets, pillows, or other comfort items to create a personal resting space.
